Lower the thresholds or choose a broader filter.
What changes is data, not a fresh simulation. Domain positions and colors are fixed across playback using the full filtered history. Nodes appear when they have a qualifying deal in the selected time window; links appear only for observed investor–company relationships in that window. The default layout uses the existing mission domains from ASC Pulse. A company sits in its most frequently recorded domain; a provider sits in the domain of its most qualifying deals, with source order breaking ties. This is a placement rule, not an exclusive classification. Each entity appears once per role. Connections within each domain shape its cluster. Cross-domain relationships remain visible but do not pull the clusters together. Colors retain the same mission-domain meanings. Domain anchors and horizontal positions stay fixed during playback; company heights update with disclosed amounts in the selected window. Cluster area is not a measure of investment value.
The domain ring. The existing mission domains are anchors around a circle, not additional companies or deals. Companies cluster near their primary domain. Providers sit on the base plane: those with deals spread across more domains are closer to the center, while concentrated providers remain near their strongest domain. Breadth uses normalized deal-share entropy across the full filtered history; it describes this tape, not an investor's entire portfolio. Faint domain guides show classification, not investment relationships.
Height is disclosed amount. By default, company height sums disclosed Venture, Growth, Corporate round and Other financing events in the current time window. This excludes strategic M&A, private equity transactions and public-market events, where headline prices may not be funding raised. Choose All disclosed deal value to include every deal type. The vertical scale is logarithmic and fixed against the full filtered history. Baseline companies have no positive disclosed amount in scope; this does not mean zero funding. Providers stay on the base plane because deal totals do not identify their individual contributions. 2D shows the domain ring from above; amounts remain available in the inspector and List. Drag 3D to orbit; Shift-drag to pan.
Watching the tape. One issue shows that month's recorded events. Rolling 3 issues shows the selected issue and its two predecessors (the first two frames have shorter history). Cumulative growth includes all issues through the selected date. A white halo marks entities first observed in the selected issue; brighter links mark relationships first observed then. No earlier activity is assumed. Node sizes use only the displayed window: providers by deal count, companies by disclosed deal value by default. Missing values use a minimum size; acquisition values are included, and totals are not valuations or investor contributions.
Read the numbers alongside the cloud. Domain bars count unique represented deal events in the selected window, not nodes or links. Share changes compare with the previous endpoint under the same window mode and filters; rolling windows overlap. Newly observed ties are measured against earlier history under the non-time filters. Small samples and uneven reporting can produce large shifts. Changing filters recalculates the reference layout; moving through time keeps horizontal positions fixed. Switching 2D/3D/List retains the same data. Perspective affects apparent size in 3D; use 2D or List for exact comparisons.
Coverage. This is a retrospective view of 24 ASC Pulse issues, not a complete market census. Source deal records and possible entity aliases are preserved. Global deal-type filters apply across all tabs; graph and time controls apply only to the Network tab. Profiles show the full source history.
